Magic Keyboard Masher: Fun Game to Let Kids Mash The Keyboard
Young children love to mash the keyboard. And it can be frustrating as a parent if you’re working. Magic Keyboard Masher is a fun game which provides a space for children to mash the keyboard to their delight.

As the player hits keys, sounds, letters, and emojis appear on screen. The more you mash, the more magical it becomes.
Why did you make this game?
I made this game because my son would enter my office, sit on my lap, and start to mash the keyboard when I was working. He liked to pretend he was working too. Sadly this would result in me saying “no!” because it would send gobbildy-gook messages, open system preferences, close windows, and even turn off the computer. I realised I needed a space for him to type without consequence. At first I just opened new Apple Notes, then decided to create this little game. Now whenever he’s in the mood to mash I quickly open this and let him have at it. By allowing him to do it, it seems to shorten the desire to do so in a good kind of way.
I tried to integrate an AI element to the game where at the end of all the mashing the AI tries to create a story out of what was typed, but it was too random so I deleted.
